From beginners to weekend warriors and age groupers alike, all the way up to professional athletes, the importance of recovery cannot be highlighted enough.  Recovery is a huge key to improving performance and advancing your fitness levels and it should be evaluated as closely as your actual workout and competition results.  Recovery from one training session to the next is often overlooked.  This is frequently the case for busy athletes that are juggling training, family, and work.  Here are a few recovery tips to speed up your recovery to become a stronger, faster athlete:

  • Re-fuel with protein & carbs after workouts
  • Ice to reduce soreness & inflammation
  • Hydrate
  • Listen to your body
  • Self-myofascial release
  • Schedule regular massages
  • Try compression garments
  • Listen to relaxing music
  • Consume protein before bed
  • Get more sleep
